FIBER Festival 2024
FIBER Festival is an Amsterdam based meeting place for everyone interested in contemporary audiovisual art, daring conversations and experimental electronic music. It was founded in 2011 and its first edition took place at the now-defunct club TrouwAmsterdam. This year’s festival takes place from May 29 – June 2, 2024.
With its intimate 9th edition FIBER invites a curious audience to a multi-sensory programme that explores urgent developments in technology, ecology and society at large. The programme includes a series of concert nights, two exhibitions, a club night and a three-day daytime programme of lectures and panels. Sound art performances will take place during the final day.

This year we are guided by the theme "Outer/Body", which will investigate the physical, virtual, and ecological connections between bodies. How are our bodies connected and extended through spaces and networks, both technologically and ecologically? Are the boundaries between our bodies fixed or erected from outdated conceptions of our earthly reality? Is our skin a hard border or a porous interface? What extreme weather conditions or sensory experiences challenge our bodies, and what ways do we find to resist? And, what is the influence of contemporary digital technology within the control and representation of bodies?
This theme will be explored from different angles and modes: from installation art and in-depth talks about artistic research to sensorial storytelling through concerts, performances, and a genre-fluid club night.
